2009 Theme Shows PDF Print E-mail

Everyone seems to have at least one or two great photographs.  In our theme shows, the Photographer’s Gallery offers the opportunity for both amateur and professional to share some of their favorite images relative to a central theme or subject.  Our goal is to give gallery space to as many photographers as possible, limiting each presenter to no more than four entries.  Theme shows will be juried to assure quality and to limit the number of entries that can be hung in our exhibition space.  The theme’s for 2009 exhibitions are: California, Five Feet of Favorite Fotos, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Landscapes, Seascapes & Cityscapes, and Macro Photography.

California:  January 12 to February 13

This show was bumped from last year's schedule - sorry about that!  We promise it won't happen again.  The general idea for this show is, you guessed it, California.  We'll be looking for photos of any content or style as long as it represents some aspect of California. This does not simply mean that the photograph was taken in California but that somehow the image at least whispers, "California." (It could scream it too, if you so desire.)

Dates:  January 2:  Deadline for submission of jps's or priints for jury.

January 9:  Receiving of photographs at gallery.

January 15:  Reception for Artists:  6:00-9:00 pm

February 13:  Close of show.  Pick up your pictures.

Five Feet of Favorite Fotos: February 16 to March 13

This is a repeat of a popular exhibition from last year.  It is an “open” exhibition.  The intent is to give photographers an opportunity to share their favorite photos without having to conform to a single subject criteria.  There will be a hanging fee of $25 per five feet of grid space and photographers can hang as many or as few images as can comfortably fit in that space.  (Five feet of grid can comfortably display 4 medium sized  images - double hung).  Additional space, in five foot increments, may be rented, if available.  (There is no additional hanging fee for this show.)  Contact us in person, over the phone or via e-mail (see contact info below) by January 4 to reserve your spot.
