Strike a Pose Portrait Photography for Home Photos Taking pictures of friends and family can be a delicate proposition. Everyone wants to look good, and it’s up to you, the friend or family photographer, to make that happen. A few hints about posing people can often make the difference between bruised egos and a family or friend, happy in their own glowing image. This course will focus on: Taking a look at the “good, bad and ugly.” Decisions about sitting or standing. The elements of body posture, head positioning, eyes, hand placement and feet placement. And, making your model(s) comfortable and giving them directions. This workshop will also give participants time to practice and share feedback regarding lessons learned. Dates: October 22, Wednesday evening, 6:00 to 9:00 pm Skill Level: Intermediate Instructor: Rebecca Harvey Fee: $59 Rebecca Harvey. Rebecca has been involved in various forms of photography for over 25 years. She started out developing her own black and white prints, moved on to color film and transparencies, and lately, has been working in the digital dark room. She feels that digital photography has opened new and creative ways to display and print images and has brought back the fun she used to experience when she was making prints from black and white film. Her interest in portraits started as a fascination with the images she saw in the publications of the 1930’s and 40’s which, although simple in style, conveyed story and impact – characteristics she tries to emulate in the portraits she takes today. Rebecca has traveled widely and her images have won local, regional and international awards. She lives by the philosophy, “A photo opportunity may last for only a few seconds, but an image that captures your heart will last forever.”
