Seeing the Light A Photographer’s Journey
Photography is light. As photographers we spend most of our time in the field chasing light, whether it’s directional, soft, harsh or colorful, each image is a journey to find the best Mother Nature has to offer. Through the use of example images, from both well-known photographers and the instructor, students will learn that photography, in its most basic form is the recording of light on film or an image sensor. Each week, students will be introduced to the importance of light in a different area, such as: portrait, landscape, photojournalism, or “fine art” photography. Students will then be asked to use what they have learned to create 3 images from that week’s subject. Images will then be shared during an instructor led critique to highlight the progression each student is making toward their “seeing the light.”
